Free Boats

      That's right, free boats.
Over the years we have developed a special relationship with the National Marine Manufacturer's Association. We exhibit at several of their shows (the New York Boat Show, The Miami Boat Show, Atlanta, Baltimore etc etc.  We, of course, can't afford to give away boats.....but the National Marine Manufacturer's Association can.  At each show we give them a boat and they give the boat away..... through a drawing, a radio controlled boat docking contest, a story-telling contest or a photo-contest. Probably we've given them 25 boats so far.....and 25 happy rowers out there can no longer say, "I've never won anything.".
There is a wonderful museum in upstate New York called the  Antique and Classic Boat Museum. It's in Clayton, NY, at the Eastern end of Lake Ontario, in the Thousand Islands region of the Saint Lawrence River. Over the years donors have bought boats from us and given them to the museum (for handsome tax write-off) and the museum sells raffle tickets. This year the winner took home one of our 14-ft Vermont Fishing Dories, complete with a sailing rig.
The winner of the Photo Contest at Miami Boat Show took home one of our 12-ft Vermont Packboats. Below are last year's 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
